Hotel Locanda San Vigilio. San Vigilio is the most enchanting place on Lake Garda; stretching out across the cool limpid water, forming a point that takes its name from a sainted monk who lived in the year 1200. Even in Roman times it was wellknown and inhabited. You enter through a lane of ancient cypress trees and you can admire all around the beautiful olive trees characteristic to this area. At the end of the lane you will find the beautiful sixteenth-century villa built from a design by Sanmicheli, surrounded by gardens and a park with orange and lemon groves which thrive due to the mild climate. Within the garden lies the small ancient church dedicated to San Vigilio. A small cobbled street takes you down to the small port, near which you will find the Bar Taverna that has lawns and gardens for visitors to enjoy. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and other functions can be organized and reserved. San Vigilio è il luogo più incantevole del Lago di Garda; esso si protende nelle sue fresche e limpide acque formando una punta che prende il nome da un santo monaco qui vissuto prima dell' anno 1000. Ma già al tempo dei romani era conosciuto ed abitato. Vi si accede percorrendo un viale di cipressi secolari e tutt'intorno si possono ammirare gli ulivi caratteristici della zona. Al termine di questo viale si trova la bellissima villa cinquecentesca costruita su disegno dell' architetto Sanmicheli, ricca di giardini e di un parco con limonaie ed aranceti che il clima mite consente di coltivare. Hotel Locanda San Vigilio. San Vigilio, sicher der bezaubernste Ort am Gardasee, bildet eine kleine Landzuge in den kühlen kristallklaren Wassern des Sees und wurde nach dem heiligen Moench, der vor dem Jahre 1000 lebte, benannt. Schon während der Römerzeit war die Halbinsel bekannt und bewohnt. Durch eine jahrhunderte alte zypressenumsäumte Allee, die rechts und links von typischen lokalen Olivenbäumen umgeben ist, erreicht man die wunderschöne Villa aus dem Jahre 1500, erbaut nach einem Entwurf des Architekten Sanmicheli, eingebettet in einen mit Zitronen und Orangebäumen bewachsenen Park, die auf Grund des milden Klimas auch hier gedeihen. Im Innengarten befindet sich die kleine, antike, San Vigilio gewidmete Kirche. Über ein kopfsteinbepflastertes Gässchen erreicht man den kleinen Privathafen mit dessen Bar-Taverne. Im dazugehörigen Garten besteht die Möglichkeit auf Nachfrage Essen, Veranstaltungen und weiters zu organisieren. Direkt am See liegt auch das Hotel Locanda San Vigilio, 4 Doppelzimmer und 3 Suiten, die seit dem Jahre 1500 Gäste beherbergt. Weiterhin gehören zum Besitz noch 7 Suiten.
